IDC Students will learn new methods that involve, influence and facilitate adult learning while refining your teaching skills. The goal of the IDC is to provide Instructor candidates a strong foundation in teaching knowledge and skill. The fundamental objective is to help candidates develop the confidence and competence to teach, evaluate, and certify students in ASHI Training Programs. Participants will learn to use a variety of instructional strategies in an environment that encourages positive group interaction and active learning.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be eligible to receive an American Safety & Health Institute instructor certification in CPR/AED and First Aid.
ASHI’s training programs are nationally recognized and are endorsed, accepted, approved, or meet the requirements of nearly 1000 state regulatory agencies and occupational licensing boards, including those licensing Emergency Medical Service providers, physicians, pharmacists, dental health professionals, child care providers, law enforcement officers, school teachers, and many others.
ASHI’s resuscitation programs for basic and advanced life support conform to national standards and are based on the same scientific guidelines and treatment recommendations used by the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross (ARC) for course development. ASHI professional resuscitation programs meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services.
ASHI resuscitation programs are nationally approved by the Continuing Education Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS), and are accepted as equivalent to the AHA and ARC by most state regulatory authorities, the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, and others.

As you can see to become and instructor and start a business (like any business) can be expensive. This is only an idea of some fees. Other fees to be concerned with are computer, printer, website, marketing, etc. We include the list above NOT to discourage anyone from becoming an instructor, but to instead give them a REALISTIC idea of what other cost MAY be associated with it. We want to make sure that students that enroll in our IDC course have an idea what they're signing up for to avoid cancellations, confusion, and disappointments. Being an instructor is rewarding and fulfilling.
At Indiana Safety and Health, Inc. we have taught many instructors. We have also taught thousands of students. We know from first hand accounts that our students HAVE saved lives! This makes the fees, cost, and work worth it. Our instructors do not do this line of work to be rich, but to enrich.
